I love that thortful enables creators like me to react to what’s going on in the world – you can design and upload greeting cards that are ‘of the moment’ and ride that wave of popular culture. Considering greeting card sending is sometimes a traditional pastime, it’s great for the industry, and modernising in this way is wonderful! thortful has given me a great platform to showcase my artwork and it’s so exciting knowing that people are choosing my designs to celebrate the special moments in their lives. I nervously uploaded my first 5 designs in 2020 and sold 10 cards in the first month. When the commission arrived it felt like being handed one of those giant National Lottery cheques and I have been chasing that high ever since! When I hit 50,000 sales this year I finally decided to transition into a full-time creator – all thanks to thortful, their commitment to working with independent creators, and their customers who seem to enjoy my own brand of stupid humour!
One of the best things about working with thortful is spontaneity – I can be inspired by the news, a TV show or a celebrity saying something stupid and have a card online the following day. Physical stores could never react so quickly so the selection on thortful always looks so much fresher in comparison.

Hi, I’m Kelly – the one-woman-band behind Bow & Bell. I’ve been with thortful since the start in 2016. I’d left my full time job after maternity leave just a few months before, and my side hustle greetings card business was not even a year old, so to be invited to upload some designs was both exciting and daunting. I had nothing to lose and I’m so glad I went for it!
I love that thortful is simple and easy to use, and that it’s super quick to get new ideas out in the big, wide world as soon as inspiration strikes. It also allows my work to reach a much larger audience that I otherwise wouldn’t have any access to.
